9'6" NOSEGLIDER FOR JESS

9'6" x 18 x 23 x16 x 3 1/8
Built this one start to finish myself.
A lot of work goes into building a board
like this, but it's pretty rewarding
when it gets picked up and the person is stoked.
Jess will be spending a lot of time in the red on this one.

CARL HAYWARD ROCKET FISH

I had the privilege to work for Carl Hayward for a few years. He was a awesome person that taught me a lot about building surfboards.
My Friend Eugene bought this Hayward fish at a garage sale and rode it to death. So a few years back we did a redo with same airspray and all.
Since then I have done a few here and there, but I never got to show Carl before he pasted away, I think he would be stocked.

"V" BOTTOM FUN

Some photos from this morning.
Wind was on it and it was smaller then it has been
but I went out just to get wet, and ended up having a really good time.

WEEKEND SURF TRIP..........FAMILY STYLE

Me and my family (minus my daughter who was in New York)
spent last weekend in San Diego.
surfed a lot, ate a lot of great food
and my son Jack got into the swing of things surfing Swamis.
We also stopped by the Longboard Grotto, was super bummed to see that they were going out of business. They are selling off there inventory and there are some great buys. Got these two dvd's.  The Fantastic Plastic Machine has some great footage of Nat Young and Bob Mctavish on "v" bottoms. I had never seen the movie Freeform before, but it has some awesome footage of Nat Young and Wayne Lynch riding shortboards.

BALSA

9' x 16 1/2 x 21 1/2 x 15 1/2 x 3 1/4
I built this solid balsa board for Mike C a few months ago.
A lot of work goes into building a board like this.
Most shapers these days buy  the wood already glued up,
have it cut on a computer shaping machine and just fine sand it.
I prefer to cut the rocker in to it, glue it up and hand shape them myself.
It just seems like that is the way they should be built.
And yes, it is very heavy.

MID-LENGTH PLEASURE

I let this board sit for along time.
Finally finished it this morning
and had a blast on it.

WHAT ONCE WAS, IS NOW?

What once was the pignar is now the
SUPER NAR NAR!
Two dots, a bit wider nose, square or pin tail,
and a totally sweet square fin.
